Volvo Ocean Race is the “gold mine” for Alicante and Valencia Community
Thanks for hosting Volvo Ocean Race start last autumn in Alicante, the economy of Valencia Community got 68.6 million euros, reports elmundo.es.
It is 7.6% higher in comparison with 2014-2015. 1,700 people in Spain were employed because of this outstanding event, 1,270 of them got job in Valencia Community. From the 11th until the 22nd of October (the time of Volvo Race Village opening until the start of the regatta), Alicante with the population of about 331,000 inhabitants became a welcome home for 345,603 guests.
