Exhibition of an artist who knew the great Dali personally
In one of the exhibition halls of Alicante University Museum there is “a Kingdom” of surrealism and abstraction: until the 12 th of November there are paintings by Daniel Escolano presented here.
Escolano is vivid representative of the mentioned art directions. He is from Alicante. The famous artist Pedro Pico was his teacher. Daniel Escolano was personally acquainted with Salvador Dali whose technique also had a definite influence on Daniel Escolano´s style.
Eskolano is “a thinking artist” that absorbs a lot of information and then expresses it in his works. One can find motives from Greek mythology as well as Japanese manga in his works. Christian philosophy, Buddhism and Freud´s ideas also had some influence on his paintings.
The schedule of the museum: from Monday to Friday – 10:00-08:00 pm, on Saturday – 10:00-02:00 pm.
