Today, on the 16th of April 16, the local town of l’Alfàs del Pi celebrates its birthday. It is 182 years old! In 1836 l’Alfàs del Pi received the constitutional status of a municipality.

It is a cosy town situated at the southeast of Mediterranean coast of Spain. Foreign population (Scandinavians, British and Dutch) prevails over the Spanish in there. In general, there are no more than 30 000 residents living in l’alfas del Pi. It is the town where a famous Spanish scriptwriter Juan Luis Iborra was born. Besides, this town is known for its annual film festival that will be held there for the thirtieth time in July of 2018.

The exhibition “L’Alfàs, un poble de cine” in el Ayuntamiento de l’Alfàs is dedicated to the history of this cultural event. It will be open for visitors until September.
