Pay for everything by your debit card or mobile phone in Morella
A small village of Morella (Castellon province) with 2.5 thousand inhabitants only, will become a national capital of non-cash payment. The initiative of popularization of all the payments by debit cards and mobile phones in the village belongs to Caixa Bank. The project is supported by the government of Valencia autonomy.
The project “Morella Cashless City” will be implemented during the next six months. By then, you will be able to pay traveling in the city or suburban bus and buy entrance tickets to local museums and the castle by debit card or a phone.
New technologies in payment for services and purchasing of products in everyday life are already a reality in some European countries, such as Sweden where 85% of payments are made non-cash. At the same time, nowadays in Spain only 24.2% purchases are done by debit card, reports elmundo.es.
