A year ago Valencia City Hall obliged owners of 60 vacant plots in the city to sell them to construction companies or get their own license that allow construction of new buildings there, reports lasprovincias.es.

Owners and groups of owners of 60 “solares” were given 6 years to make their decision: whether to build a new building on their own cost or announce selling their land plots. Twenty of them are located in el barrio de Velluters, 15 are in the zone el Ensanche-Quart in Valencia.

The Department of Urban Development/ la Concejalía Desarrollo Urbano of Valencia states that the last 12 months show that quite many owners of land plots prefer to obtain a license for the construction of a new building due to their own project, rather than sell their property to a construction company, writes lasprovincias.es.
